Introduction :
Born in Santiniketan in 1933,Sen,currently is the Master of Trinity College.

Career :
In Dhaka a Muslim laborer was killed in communal riots outside his house. The traumatic incidents directed Sen to a relentless study of the economics mechanism underlying famines and poverty.

milestones :
His winning the 1998 Nobel and the Bharat Ratna a year later proved that finally the world was sync with his conviction. Former student at Delhi School of Economics still recall Prof. Amartya Sen's lecture and his impeccable British accent.The lectures were so effective that apart from the Nobel he ought to have got Oscar too.
