Aryabhatta Award
Prof.
Satish Dhawan and Prof.U.R.Rao, former Chairman of the
ISRO, were presented the prestigious 1994 Aryabhatta
awards in Bangalore on April 23,1995, while the 1992
award was given to Prof Dhawan for his contribution to
the promotion of astronautics in the country. Prof. Rao was conferred 1993 award. The award instituted
by Astronautic Society of India, a professional body committed
to the development of astronautics in the country
carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
