Dhanvantri Award
Dr.S.S.Badrinath,renowned
ophthalmic surgeon and founder of Shankar Netralaya,
Chennai was conferred the Dhavantri Award by
Maharashtra Governer Dr. P.C.Alexander on October
31,1999. The award carries a citation, a gold medal
and a bronze statue of Dhanvantri, the god of healing.
