Introduction :
Born in Punjab Dr.Khorana went to Britain to do his Ph.D. in 1945.He returned to India 5 years later and again went back to work in Universities including Cambridge.

Milestone :
He cracked the genetic code and shared the Nobel for medicine and Physiology in 1968.In 1970 he became the Alfred Sloan Professor of Biology and Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Khorana,78,was the first to synthesise oligonucleotides,which have a wide range of application in biotechnography.
