Between
the ancient creation myth of Kerala and the modern political
fact is a land of lush, physical beauty which contains a rich
storehouse of legend, romance, history, culture and tradition.
Rural Kerala is a traditional land where beautiful old houses
blend into the contours. Temples such as those at Ettumanoor,
Irinjalakuda and Trichur, match the stark, white elegance of
local Kerala dress. In traditional Kerala there is no abuse,
waste or vulgarity; there is, instead, along with respect,
appreciation and restraint, a deep reverence for the land
which eventually supplies all needs.
