Dr.Vinod Thomas, subordinate to the World Bank Institute, boyish, humble and known to be generous with his time and money. He has had smooth climb to the top.

Career :
The Thirivanantpuram born Thomas took his economics degree at St.Stephen's College,Delhi,and his master and Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. After a brief stint at teaching in Vassar College, New York,he joined the bank in 1976.

milestones :
A career high point came in 1991 when he headed a team which compiled the annual World Development Report.
