Madhavi Parekh : My stay in Calcutta imprinted the images of Kali and Durga on my mind. The impressions took form in the Durga series I painted between '94 and '97. It's the first time I've painted on such a big canvas: 5X10. It took two-and-a-half months to complete. For me, nothing represents the shakti of woman as these goddesses.
