Anjolie ela Menon : 'Toys' is from the early 90's ....... like other works, a distillation of my own experience. The woman stands a little removed from her children, their world. I'm always conscious of contrast. The primary shapes and colours of the toy world are set against the gravitas of her situation where jollity accentuates the sobriety.
